Our aim at the SPE YP London section is to give back to the industry through leading knowledge-sharing events and initiatives that revolve around topics and issues that we face in the Oil & Gas industry today, bridging the gap between Senior Professionals (SPs) and Young Professionals (YP’s). Our core focus is on graduates and young professionals who are the future of our industry.

Shwan Dizayee: YP Chair
Shwan Dizayee is a Senior Strategy Consultant at Accenture working within their Energy practice. He has industry experience as a petroleum engineer and has worked extensively across upstream & downstream projects in the last six years. Shwan is enthusiastic about the opportunities that have arisen from the energy transition, and he is an advocate of the value digital transformation can bring to the industry.
As an SPE YP committee, we strive to bridge the gap between industry thought leaders and graduates/young professionals through knowledge sharing initiatives and workshops.

Samad Ali: YP Vice Chair
Samad Ali is a Senior Reservoir Engineer and Simulators product analyst at Schlumberger Abingdon Technology Center. In his current role, he provides technical expertise on reservoir simulation and oilfield operational constraints modeling, to clients worldwide, using Schlumberger D&I technology offerings. He joined Schlumberger in 2013 and has been based in Abingdon since, with short-term assignments in the Middle East.
He holds an MSc. Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College London, UK. He is a member of SPE and has published on topics including optimization with field management and high-resolution simulation modelling.

Raghd Gadrbouh: YP Events Coordinator
Raghd Gadrbouh is a data engineer at CGG and holds an MSc degree in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College London.
Raghd has two years of experience as a reservoir engineer and was involved in developing and managing several oil and gas assets in Libya where she is originally from.
She also worked at Total as an exploration geoscience intern. She is passionate about energy transition and carbon capture and storage, as well as the applications of AI and machine learning in the energy industry.

Natan Battisti: YP SPE Chapter Collaborations and Partnerships
Natan Battisti is a Petroleum Engineer graduate from the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel), Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
Currently, he works for Harbour Energy as Group Development & Operations Technical Engineer and is responsible for providing competent and proactive technical support to the International team at Harbour in London. Also, Natan is a member of SPE London and Macaé Sections and is co-founder of the Até o Último Barril (Until the Last Barrel), a group in Brazil that aims to develop opportunities empowering the young professional and students as entrepreneurs in the Brazilian Energy Sector. Natan is also part of the ProLíder 2021 – Leadership Development Program for Brazilians, where he was selected from among more than 12,000 candidates.

Vikas Kooneti: YP Social Media & Comms / University Lead
Vikas Kooneti is MSc candidate in the UK.
Previously, he was the president for the SPE Portsmouth student chapter and Energy4me advisory team for Europe.
Vikas is an active member of SPE and also part of different organisations. He is passionate about data science and finance in the energy industry.

Muhammad Usman: YP Technical Lead
Muhammad Usman is a Reservoir Engineer with Shell Exploration and Production UK. He is responsible for WRFM and development of Shell’s HPHT Reservoir.
He has an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot Watt University (2008) and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from NED University, Pakistan (2007).
Prior to Shell, Usman worked for CGG and BP as a Reservoir Engineer. Usman has been a volunteer with SPE YP London for four years.

Arsenij Fiodorov: YO Net Zero / CCS Lead
Arsenij ‘Archie’ Fiodorov is a Flow Assurance Engineer at Pace Flow Assurance. He is responsible for flow assurance modelling of the transportation systems of CO2 captured from hydrogen production sources.
Prior to Pace, Arsenij worked for AFS and Glencore as a Flow Assurance and Reservoir Engineer. He is passionate about energy transition, carbon capture, transportation and storage as well as green energy developments. Arsenij holds both Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Petroleum Engineering from the Imperial College London and Saint-Petersburg Mining University. He has been an active member in SPE for more than five years and has volunteered in several roles such as the Vice President of the SPE Imperial College Student chapter and a Membership Officer.

Muhammad Abbas Hamid: YP Student Development and Technical Lead
Muhammad Abbas Hamid is a Petroleum Engineer at BP (London) currently managing production at the Rumaila Field in Iraq, the third largest oilfield in the world. His role involves working on surveillance, reservoir and production management, workover operations and digitalization projects. With prior experience as a Field Engineer with Baker Hughes, Abbas worked in offshore operations and well completions, particularly in the North Sea. He graduated with an MEng Petroleum Engineering from the University of Aberdeen in 2018 and is currently working towards his Chartership in Energy with Energy Institute. Abbas is passionate about helping young talent enter the industry and is actively involved in the BP intern mentorship programme.

Hajara Kabeer – YP Diversity and Inclusion Lead
Hajara Kabeer is a young Northern Nigerian woman working in STEM. She is a Petroleum and Gas Engineer by profession, and is studying for an MSc. Economics and Policy of Energy and the Environment at University College London. She is passionate about building capacity in energy, environmental sustainability and low carbon future. Her aim is to become a Future Energy Leader and acquire skills in the use of energy and econometric models to access the long-term implications of energy and environmental policy decisions on different sectors of the economy.
Hajara is an advocate of D&I. She founded Girl in STEM Initiative to help counter the narrative of Northern females being the most educationally disenfranchised. She leads advocacy on #GiveGirlsRoleModels, a movement aimed at normalizing female role models in STEM. More than anything, Hajara is driven by an insatiable desire to encourage and inspire young girls and women to break through the ceiling of possibility and make a positive and lasting impact in the world of STEM.

Sagar Kalra: Industry Collaboration and Partnerships lead
Sagar Kalra is a Management Consultant at Accenture Strategy working within their Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Utilities, Natural Resources and Energy practice. With prior experience of working as a Technical Sales Consultant at Halliburton Landmark in India, he is passionate about empowering people in the industry to work smarter and enabling their business to exploit previously inaccessible opportunities through Digital Transformation. Sagar holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Petroleum Engineering with a specialization in upstream from the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies. He has been an active member in SPE for more than four years, having volunteered in several roles such as the Advisor and Treasurer of the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies Student Chapter.

Osama Khan: Digital Transformation and Analytics Lead
Osama Khan is a Senior Reservoir Engineer for Schlumberger, based in Abingdon Technology Center, within the product development group, where he develops field development and operations workflows that combine traditional subsurface modelling and simulation with the newer data-driven methods. He holds a BE degree in Petroleum Engineering from NED University, Pakistan. He started his career with Schlumberger in 2012 and has since held diverse roles that involved delivering consulting projects, supporting and training customers, and positioning new technologies. He has published on topics including field management, fractured reservoirs, unstructured grids, and hydraulic fracturing.

Kareem Shafi: YP Policy and Regulation Lead
Kareem Shafi is a Business Advisor at OGUK (Oil and Gas UK), and is responsible for the development of technical guidelines and UKCS initiatives associated with CCUS, Reserves Progression and Reservoir & Well Optimisation.
Kareem graduated from the University of Portsmouth, where he studied Petroleum Engineering.
